Joseph M. Gingo has been Chief Executive Officer and President of A. Schulman since January 1, 2008. He was named Chairman of the Board on February 26, 2008. Previously, Mr. Gingo was employed at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for more than 40 years. From June 2003 through December 2007, he was Executive Vice President, Quality Systems and Chief Technical Officer at Goodyear. In this role he was responsible for Goodyear's Research, Tire Technology and Engineering and Quality organizations. Prior to that, he held numerous domestic and international leadership positions in the company's technical organization and business units including Asia, Aviation Products, Off-The-Road Tires, Engineered Products and Racing. Mr. Gingo earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University), and a law degree from the University of Akron. He received a master's degree in business management from the Sloan Fellowship program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Derek Bristow
Derek Bristow was named General Manager of ICO Australasia, a division of A. Schulman, in May 2010, following the Company's acquisition of ICO, Inc. He is responsible for business development in this high-growth region for the Company. Bristow has 25 years of experience in the global polymer industry. Prior to joining A. Schulman, he was with ICO for 12 years, beginning as Manager of Asia Pacific Operations and progressing through several positions to President, Europe and Asia from July 2008 to April 2010. He helped restore ICO Europe to profitability and expanded it to become approximately 45% of ICO's global business. He holds an MBA degree from Deakin University, Australia, a post-bachelor's degree in polymer engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Natal University, South Africa.
John B. Broerman
John B. Broerman is Vice President, Chief Information Officer at A. Schulman and has IT responsibility for the Company's global operations. Before he joined A. Schulman in April 2005, John held various IT and supply chain management positions at Cole National, American Greetings and Arthur Andersen. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in operations research and statistics. John is a member of the northeast Ohio chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM), participates on the University of Akron's IT Advisory Board, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Joseph J. Levanduski
Joseph J. Levanduski joined A. Schulman, Inc. on June 10, 2011 as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, as well as Director of Corporate Development, for Hawk Corporation, a publicly traded manufacturer of high-performance friction products, which was acquired by Carlisle Companies Incorporated in late 2010. Prior to that, he held various positions within Hawk, including Corporate Controller. Before joining Hawk, Levanduski was a Controller with Plasti-Kote Company, a manufacturer and distributor
of consumer aerosol and specialty paint products. He received a master of business administration degree from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Cleveland State University.
Gary A. Miller
Gary A. Miller was named Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Chief Procurement Officer for A. Schulman on April 3, 2008. In this function, he is responsible for the Company's supply chain and procurement activities to better leverage its worldwide purchasing power, reduce materials inventories, eliminate waste and improve efficiency. He is also responsible for the Company's global resin distribution services as well as the Company's rotomolding business. Previously, he was with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for more than 35 years, including responsibility for the company's global purchasing activities for 16 years. His positions at Goodyear included Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for the company and president of Goodyear/SRI, Global Purchasing Company, a joint venture between Goodyear and Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. Mr. Miller earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University; the Executive Program at Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia; and Kellogg School for Graduate Studies, Northwestern University.
David C. Minc
David C. Minc joined A. Schulman in May 2008 and was elected Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for the Company in July 2008. Previously, he was General Counsel and Secretary for Flexsys America L.P., where he was the core member of the legal team guiding operations in North and South America and in Asia. He has more than 20 years of professional experience, and has held senior legal positions with BFGoodrich and Michelin/Uniroyal-Goodrich. He also was a Partner with Roetzel & Andress, a law firm. Mr. Minc provides expertise in acquisitions, commercial transactions, antitrust law, financing, management of intellectual property, trade regulation and environmental law. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Competition Law at the University of Akron School of Law, as chair for various American Bar Association committees, and as a producer and moderator for a Northeast Ohio TV and radio program, "Civic Forum of the Air." He graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in social sciences from the New College of Hofstra University, and earned his juris doctor degree and masters in public administration from Cornell University.
Patricia M. Mishic
Patricia M. Mishic was appointed Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for A. Schulman in January 2012. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Company's global marketing and sales strategy, coordinating global technical activities, managing the Company's new product engine, and developing new markets. Previously, she served in a variety of positions at Dow Chemical Company, where she had responsibilities for aligning global market and technology growth platforms, leading key projects and start-ups, and overseeing global commercial, sales and marketing activities for the respective businesses. Prior to joining Dow in 2000, she held several senior marketing, business, sales and communications positions in the medical/surgical, light industrial, environmental consulting and construction/transportation industries. She received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Akron and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University. She also completed the Babson College and IMD executive management and entrepreneurial programs.
Gustavo Pérez
Gustavo Pérez was named the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Americas in July 2010. He was most recently the General Manager, Masterbatch for the Company's North America operations since 2008. Previously he was General Manager of Mexico and prior to that position, he was Associate General Manager since 2000. He joined A. Schulman in 1995 as a Finance Manager of the Mexican subsidiary. Prior to joining A. Schulman he was an Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds an MBA degree from the University of Quebec in Montreal and received his CPA from La Salle University, Mexico City.
Bernard Rzepka
On April 4, 2013, Bernard Rzepka was named Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. In this new position, he will implement corporate strategy and growth plans within the global operations organization and further excellence in the Company’s procurement and marketing organizations. Bernard most recently served as Vice President and General Manager, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) for A. Schulman. He has served in a variety of technology and commercial management positions during his 16-year career with A. Schulman, including as head of the Europe Engineered Plastics and Masterbatch business units and as Managing Director of Germany. Before joining A. Schulman, he spent five years with ICI Advanced Materials in technical service in the U.K. and in Germany. He studied plastics engineering at Darmstadt University in Germany.
Stacy R. Walter
Stacy R. Walter, Director, Internal Audit, has been with A. Schulman since June 2005. From June 2005 to April 2006 she was Sarbanes-Oxley Audit Manager for the Company, and in June 2006 she assumed responsibility for the Company's Internal Audit. Prior to joining A. Schulman she was a Consultant for Resources Global Professionals, held various audit and financial analyst positions at Continental General Tire, and was Internal Auditor for May Department Stores. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Kim L. Whiteman
Kim L. Whiteman has been Vice President, Global Human Resources for the Company since June, 2009. Whiteman had been with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company since 1979. Most recently, he was Human Resource Director Global Sourcing, with responsibility for human resource strategic and tactical plans for the global sourcing organization, including manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, facilities planning and continuous improvement teams. Prior to that, he was Director, Organizational Capability, responsible for global organization development and change management. His other positions at Goodyear included human resource management for a number of the company's divisions and plants. Whiteman received a bachelor's degree in industrial and systems engineering from The Ohio State University in 1979. He also attended executive education classes at the American Graduate School of International Management and the Wharton Business School.
